At one time sellers needed real estate agencies to market their properties through newspaper ads. Today 9 out of 10 home buyers find the home they want to buy through searching online at their favorite search site. Newspaper ads do not sell houses. Why pay 6% to a standard old school real estate agency for a newspaper ad that won't sell ypur house. Buyers doing thier own home search has risen dramatically over time, increasing from only 2 percent of buyers in 1995 to 90 percent in 2010; it was 74 percent in 2004. The next largest source of information for buyers is a yard sign, mentioned by 71 percent of buyers. Today real estate agents are playing a much smaller role when it comes to helping their clients sell and buy property. Most home buyers know that they can search the internet to find properties for sale but many sellers have not yet learned that they can now list their property on the MLS for an extremely low 1% fee. You’re probably asking yourself, what about the commission to the Buyer’s agent? Well you’re right; you do still need to offer something to the Buyer’s agent since most buyers still use an agent to view properties. The typical commission is still ranging between 2-3%. Ted and Gloria have owned and operated several businesses in Monterey county for over 30 years. Ted was born and raised in Monterey, and Gloria has lived here since she was 5 years old. They both share a great love and knowledge of this beautiful area that they call home.
A few of their experiences in business include owning a restaurant in Monterey and a manufacturing facility with about a dozen employees using a fleet of delivery trucks.
Ted has also worked as a Systems Analyst for Electronic Data Systems, one of the largest information companies in the world.
Ted graduated from California State University Sacramento with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration / Management Infomation Systems, and is also Candidate for a Masters Degree in Management Information Systems and is continuing college courses (when time permits) to stay abreast of our ever changing world.
